Coin Tray

Ten of a kind makes a roll.

What is Coin Tray?

Coin Tray is a coin-sorting puzzle for iPhone. Coins land in a counting tray in the wrong order, and your job is to sort them by colour. Get ten of the same colour stacked together and they wrap themselves into a paper roll and drop into your vault — which is both how you clear the board and the most satisfying two seconds in the game.

How do I play?

You lose when no legal move is left. Each level gives you three undos, and your star rating compares your run with a solver-verified benchmark.

Is every level actually solvable?

Yes — every level ships only after a solver has found a complete solution for it, and the star target uses that verified benchmark. If a level ever feels impossible, it isn't; but the undo button is right there, and you can restart a level as many times as you like at no cost.

Can I make my own challenge?

Yes. The Challenges tab lets you arrange two to four coin colours across three to eight trays, add rust and counterfeits, and set star targets. Coin Tray proves the shortest solution on your phone before the puzzle can be shared, so an impossible board or a forged best score never reaches a friend.

Sharing is optional and user-initiated. Coin Tray creates a self-contained HTTPS link, QR code, and offline code, then hands the link to the standard iOS share sheet. The puzzle is not uploaded to a Coin Tray server, and its device-local name is never included.

Do I need an internet connection?

No connection is required to play, build, verify, save, or open an offline challenge code. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log in to. A connection is only useful when you choose to share or open an HTTPS challenge link, visit Support or Privacy from Settings, or open the App Store fallback page.

Does it cost anything?

No. Coin Tray is free, with no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no advertising.

Where is my progress and challenge library saved?

Campaign progress, settings, custom challenges, drafts, local challenge names, and best scores are stored on your device only. Because there is no account, deleting the app deletes that library, and it does not transfer to a new phone automatically.

Accessibility

Coins are distinguished by more than colour: each type has its own finish and detailing, and every peg reports its full contents to VoiceOver (for example, "peg 1, 10 coins, top silver"). Sound and haptics can each be turned off in Settings.
